Opera’s Web3 browser natively integrates MetaMask and other wallets

by Thomas

Opera is updating its Crypto Browser with a variety of features designed to make Web3 browsing easier, safer and smoother. In addition, the crypto-browser will now natively support MetaMask and hundreds of wallets as well as the DeFi PancakeSwap application.

Opera offers Web3’s first wallet selector

The Norwegian company Opera has just announced a multitude of new features for its crypto-browser released in early 2022 in desktop version, and also available on iOS since last April.

Resolutely oriented towards the Web3, Opera’s “Crypto Browser” now offers a native wallet selector so that its users can navigate from one digital wallet to another in one click.

Called “Wallet Selector”, this unique new feature eliminates the need to perpetually juggle between different browser extensions and already supports hundreds of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible wallets, including the ever-popular MetaMask.

In addition, the login process becomes automated: the browser remembers the user’s preferences for each site to make the Web3 experience more accessible and faster. Thus, interaction with decentralised applications (dApps) is also greatly simplified.

You can find Opera’s browser dedicated to cryptocurrencies and Web3 for download on its official website or directly from the App Store for the mobile version.

Other updates also implemented

Faced with the growth of phishing attempts on the Internet, Opera has also updated its dedicated protection and promises safer browsing thanks to its continuously updated blacklist.

Thanks to a partnership with DappRadar, Opera’s crypto-browser will now be able to offer optimised browsing on more than 10,000 decentralised applications on the web.

In addition, PancakeSwap, a decentralised finance application (DeFi) from NBB Chain, will now be supported natively in the Opera browser.

Thanks to this new feature, users of Opera’s Crypto Browser will be able to exchange their tokens directly from their wallet without using a third-party application.

The mobile version of the browser has also received an update for web browsing and the addition of a private browsing function.

According to Susie Batt, head of crypto at Opera, this browser, based on user feedback, aims to make the Web3 experience as easy and fun as possible:

Not only have we provided a gateway to Web3, but we’ve also simplified many of the day-to-day processes native to the crypto space that could previously confuse the average web user. The Opera Crypto browser is currently the best and most comprehensive portal to Web3 for both novice and experienced users.”
