Vivek Ramaswamy, a Republican candidate for the White House, has shown his support for cryptocurrencies on several occasions, notably by accepting donations in Bitcoin (BTC) for his campaign. This time, he renewed his stance by openly criticising the SEC.
Candidate Vivek Ramaswamy reaffirms his infatuation with blockchain
With just over a year to go before the US presidential election, every candidate is making promises to try and win back votes, and we’ve seen that the subject of cryptocurrencies is one of the many angles of attack. Republican Vivek Ramaswamy, who accepts donations in Bitcoin (BTC), took a new stance on Wednesday on X.
Ramaswamy has no qualms about using strong words, criticising the “shadow government in Washington” as being “out of control”, while believing that federal tribals were the main recourse against the “illegal thuggish behaviour of 3-letter government agencies”. Of course, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is directly targeted here:
The shadow government in D.C. is out of control; the federal courts are our *only* remaining line of defense against the unlawful rogue behaviors of 3-letter government agencies. This decision is strong and clears a path to keep Bitcoin & blockchain innovation in the U.S…. https://t.co/FsykKyQEVG

Through this intervention, the interested party showed his support for Grayscale, for its recent victory against the SEC:
“This is a strong decision and paves the way for keeping Bitcoin and blockchain innovation in the US rather than abroad. But this case should never have gone to court.”
We can also highlight the fact that earlier in August, Elon Musk endorsed the candidate, calling him “very promising”:

Of course, it’s also a case of taking a step back from these various statements, bearing in mind that these are above all campaign speeches, which may not reflect the reality of actions once the elections are over. Nonetheless, the fact that cryptocurrencies are increasingly taking their place in the political debate is an encouraging signal, testifying to the growth of the ecosystem.
