Changpeng Zhao denies rumors of Interpol red notice issued against him and calls for cohesion

Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance, is currently facing many rapidly spreading rumors, the most recent of which is that an Interpol red notice has been issued against him. This rumor caused a rapid drop in the price of BNB and Bitcoin (BTC), although it was only short-lived.

Changpeng Zhao is riddled with rumors

Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao continues to be the victim of rumors that are now coming out almost daily. Yesterday, Monday April 3, social networks were abuzz after a rumor spread quickly, reporting a red notice from Interpol issued against him.

The price of BNB, the token of the cryptocurrency exchange platform Binance, quickly plummeted, also dragging down Bitcoin (BTC) and more broadly the crypto market as a whole, although this was only short-lived.

At issue? A tweet from @Cobie (who has since switched his profile to protected mode), a personality of the crypto ecosystem with some notoriety and 760,000 followers on the social network with the blue bird. The person concerned published a secret code through the SHA-256 hash function, which is supposed to be almost impossible to decode and is used for some cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin.

However, Twitter user @hyuktrades reportedly managed to decipher the code in question, which then revealed the phrase “Interpol red notice for CZ”.

Given @Cobie’s influence, this had the effect of panicking investors, with a good portion quickly deciding to sell their BNBs in the process.

For its part, CZ denies the rumor

Although some time ago, such a rumor would have been difficult to believe given the presence of the giant Binance and its CEO, they accumulate rumors and negative announcements, including a recent complaint from the Commodities Futures and Trading Commission (CFTC) accusing them of circumventing the U.S. jurisdiction to offer certain services.

Thus, the rumor of a red notice for Changpeng Zhao could have been prescient, given the recent turn of events. And yet, the main person concerned has posted a few tweets in response to these allegations, including highlighting some images supporting the rumor that have been doctored. This morning, CZ wanted to make a point:

“The last Fud was only broadcast by crypto news outlets and KOLs, and was probably set up/sponsored by another exchange. Very petty. They are hurting the industry and themselves. There are enough outside forces attacking us. Our industry needs to unite at this point. “

Responding to a member of his community who asked him to answer whether or not he was wanted by Interpol, Changpeng Zhao redirected him to the Interpol red notice page to check for himself that he was not there.

This is not proof, however, as most Interpol red notices are confidential and reserved for police. However, there is currently no hard evidence of any red notice for the CEO of Binance.
