AXA France intends to develop its activity in the metaverse

Not a day goes by without a major new company announcing its arrival in the metaverse. This week alone, the Casino Group has entered the world of The Sandbox (SAND), while the American bank JP Morgan has entered the world of its main competitor, Decentraland (MANA). Today, it is the turn of the insurance company AXA France to take its first steps into the metaverse.

In a press release, AXA France announced that it had purchased a parcel in The Sandbox. It takes the opportunity to underline that it is the very first player in the French banking and insurance sector to establish itself in the metaverse.

Patrick Cohen, CEO of AXA France, has clarified the company’s intentions:

The spirit of innovation has been the key to the success of AXA France since our creation. We have decided to move into the metaverse, to offer our talents the opportunity to come together in this new virtual world and explore its uses. As an insurance leader, it is our responsibility to take part in the major technological advances to imagine the insurance of the future. We are only at the beginning of the metaverse, so we want to learn and give ourselves the means to become familiar with these platforms and communities as soon as possible. “

New services designed for the virtual world

With the acquisition of a parcel in The Sandbox, AXA France shows its willingness to move with the times. In its press release, the company highlights the many opportunities for meetings and interaction offered by the metaverse, in particular to animate its AXA Tech, Digital and Data community of over 2,000 people.

AXA France can count on the support of The Sandbox, Excelsior Gaming and Metaverse Studio, which will help it develop its plot.
For the moment, the insurance company has not revealed any specific plans for its location in the metaverse. It has only suggested that it might open a virtual agency there, or offer new services specifically designed for the virtual world. One thing is for sure, this bold move will allow it to reach new audiences.
