What if it was possible to keep your best bottles of wine until their peak… In the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs)? That’s what Wine Bottle Club offers. Whether you know the best grape varieties of France at your fingertips, you are a lover of beautiful bottles or you simply like to collect NFTs, discover how Wine Bottle Club combines wine and blockchain.

Introduction to Wine Bottle Club

Wine Bottle Club is the result of a collaboration between two passionate wine professionals, Louis de Bonnecaze and Philippe Papillon, and two tech enthusiasts, Florent Coulon and Maxime Garraud.

Louis de Bonnecaze runs Lasserre & Papillon with his partner Philippe Papillon, a Bordeaux wine merchant specialising in the region’s finest wines such as Château Cheval Blanc, the prestigious Château Margaux and Château Angelus.

Louis is also the founder of BTC Wine, a wine sales service based directly in Bordeaux, the capital of the vineyard. BTC Wine offers a direct sales service from professionals to individuals, but also an online sales service that serves more than 30 countries in the 4 corners of the globe.

You can find the greatest wines of Burgundy, but also Italian and Spanish wines as well as renowned champagnes such as the great Dom Pérignon vintage. But above all, what makes BTC Wine special is that, as its name suggests, the winery accepts Bitcoin (BTC) as a means of payment. You’ve got it right: BTC Wine allows you to buy a Petrus in Bitcoin.

Philippe Papillon is none other than the CEO and founder of Lasserre & Papillon, who, with his experience of investing in the finest wines and Bordeaux wine trading across Asia, promises to offer the best of French wine heritage.

The meeting with Maxime Garraud and Florent Coulon brings the project into Web 3.0, the latter having completed his double HEC / Mines PariTech thesis on food traceability via blockchain.

These 4 enthusiasts have decided to pool their talents to create Wine Bottle Club: a unique non-fungible token (NFT) project that allows digital bottle owners to see their bottles linked to the greatest Bordeaux wines. In addition, it opens the door to the Wine Bottle Club and the multitude of benefits it includes.

What does the Wine Bottle Club offer

So, Wine Bottle Club is the result of a collaboration of a wide range of talents from the wine and blockchain industry to offer a multitude of new kind of NFTs.

This young company proposes a totally singular idea: backing NFTs with the greatest bottles of French heritage.

The first collection of the Wine Bottle Club, entitled “Genesis”, is off to a flying start with the best wine estates of the Bordeaux region, in order to offer you 4,926 NFTs mined on the Ethereum blockchain.

These uniquely designed NFTs will be randomly generated from a palette of over a hundred attributes. Among these thousands of unique bottles, some will benefit from an exclusive design.

Wine Bottle Club has collaborated with artist JonOne, founder of the 156 All Starz artist collective, to create a unique background for 501 of the NFTs in the collection

Wine lovers are in for a treat: to begin with, this unique collection will feature 1,500 bottles of Pessac-Léognan Bitcoin La Cuvée® 2019 and 180 bottles of Château Pape Clément 2014, carefully selected AOC wines produced in Pessac-Léognan, just south of Bordeaux.

We then head north to the Gironde Peninsula to set foot in the vineyards of the Médoc. Wine Bottle Club will take us to the world-renowned Chateau Margaux to offer us 1,500 copies of Margaux Bitcoin La Cuvée® 2019.

A few steps further on, we’ll be at Château Gruaud Larose, in the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation, where we’ll find 180 bottles of Château Gruaud Larose 2014.

Finally, we head east of Bordeaux, not far from the prestigious Petrus vineyard, to find an edition of 60 bottles of Château Cheval Blanc 2011. A renowned bottle with a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot.

And to finish this tour of the Bordeaux vineyards, Wine Bottle Club will be able to offer us 1,500 bottles of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Bitcoin La Cuvée® 2019, an appellation requiring rigorous production conditions, the fruit of a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

It is worth noting that Wine Bottle Club still keeps 6 “legendary” bottles in its cellar, the price, release date or nature of which have not yet been revealed.

As you can see, we are dealing here with a careful selection of the best French wines by experts
