Renault is entering the world of Web3 with “R3NLT”, its new platform dedicated to this new community ecosystem with many advantages for the brand’s fans. For the occasion, Renault announces the launch of its first NFT collection “genR5” in homage to the mythical car model of the 70’s and 80’s.

The iconic French carmaker Renault is entering the Web3 world with “R3NLT”, a community initiative to bring together all the brand’s enthusiasts, Web 3.0 insiders and neophytes alike.
To make the launch official, Renault is unveiling a first collection of 1,972 “genR5” non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as a tribute to its legendary Renault 5 from the 70s and 80s, its best-selling model for a decade or so
Overview of the Renault R5 NFT
This first drop will be available at the mint from 15 December on Renault’s new dedicated platform. This secure platform will be the only place to purchase Renault NFTs and will offer a privileged and intimate relationship with the brand. It will provide secure access to the wallet and will evolve with each new launch. It will also allow the public to follow the news of the sale and to register to receive key notifications in order to become a holder of an NFT genR5.
These NFTs will offer a plethora of benefits to their owners, including:
- Access to events covered by Renault;
- Preferential car testing;
- Meetings with Renault officials, including design directors;
- Previews of Renault exhibitions;
- Exclusive tours of places never before seen by the public;

NFTs with unique features
This first collection of 1,972 NFTs, in reference to the launch year of the Renault R5, will be inspired by 4 evolutions of the legendary model from the 70s. These NFTs, distributed randomly, will be presented according to the following characteristics:
- 100 electric R5s, in homage to the 100 electric models produced in the 70s, a real revolution of the time;
- 160 R5 Turbo, to symbolise Renault’s sportiness, 160 being the number of horsepower available on the sporty model;
- 450 R5 Le Car Van, in reference to the 450 limited edition models produced in this American car-inspired edition;
And finally, 1262 R5 TL, a symbol of the city car revolution.
This first collection will offer unique benefits to its owners, including the opportunity to participate in the creation of “The Originals” merchandising items as well as notifications of future R3NLT opportunities.
It should also be noted that the various drops launched by Renault can be an opportunity to take a step into Web3 without necessarily using cryptocurrencies. Indeed, the purchase of these NFTs at a single price and accessible to all is also possible with a traditional payment by credit card.
Finally, the purchase of these NFTs will allow interested parties to benefit from the status of patron of the Give Me Five solidarity project, with part of the revenue generated by the genR5 collection being donated to this initiative. This programme, launched by Renault, works in particular by restoring tennis courts in working-class neighbourhoods in order to facilitate access to sporting activities for their population.
