In partnership with the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation, platforms Everstake and FTX have launched an official cryptocurrency fundraising site. The aim is to facilitate donations to support Ukraine in the conflict with Russia.

Aid For Ukraine, the official site for crypto donations

As part of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, donations continue to pour in to support Ukraine. This Monday, March 14, the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation announced the official launch of a cryptocurrency fundraising website.

Called Aid For Ukraine, it centralises all the important information you need to know and the different donation methods to make the process faster and easier. This initiative is supported by Everstake, one of the largest platforms providing staking solutions and by the exchange FTX.

Known for his altruism and philanthropy, neo-billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried is also lending his support to the Ukrainian cause:

On their website, Aid for Ukraine said that all funds raised through them will go directly to the country’s armed forces and to civilians in need of humanitarian aid.

More than $60 million in cryptocurrency donations

Since the invasion of Russia on February 24, the Ukrainian government had appealed to the crypto-community for generosity. In just three weeks, more than $60 million has already been received directly to official addresses published by Ukraine, according to data from Elliptic.

Last week, Alex Bornyakov, the Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, detailed how Ukraine has used these funds. In particular, almost 70% of the funds were logically used to support the military in the face of Russian ground and air invasions.

In total, more than $93.6 million has been sent to various Ukrainian entities, both governmental and non-governmental. The majority is in Ether (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), and USDT. Other accepted crypto-assets include: DOT, SOL, DOGE, XMR, ICON, EOS, and NEO.
