Binance and Ledger partner to democratise Web3 and cryptocurrencies

Binance has partnered with Ledger to make buying cryptocurrencies easier and more secure. As a result, Ledger key holders will be able to purchase their crypto-currencies through Binance directly from the Ledger Live app. This feature marks the beginning of a long-term partnership that is expected to unlock new opportunities.

Binance and Ledger hand in hand

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency platform, is partnering with French startup Ledger to simplify the cryptocurrency buying experience.

Specifically, holders of Ledger physical wallets such as the Nano S or Nano X will be able to purchase their crypto-currencies directly from their Ledger Live app through Binance and without any additional intermediaries.

This feature, which is already available in Ledger Live’s “Discover” tab, allows anyone to purchase over 80 different crypto-currencies by paying with a bank card such as Visa or Mastercard.

Note that in order to purchase cryptocurrencies via Binance from Ledger Live, it is necessary to have previously completed the identity verification (KYC) process on the cryptocurrency exchange.

Of course, as with any purchase made from the catalogue available on Ledger Live, once the purchase of crypto-currencies has been made, it is possible to keep them in a safe place on the wallet or to send them to another address.

According to the release, this is only the first step in the partnership between the 2 entities. However, it should soon be possible to take advantage of buying cryptocurrencies via Binance on the mobile version of Ledger Live, and other payment methods should also be added to the application little by little.

This partnership between Binance and Ledger aims, according to the release, to facilitate the buying experience of cryptocurrency holders while ensuring secure transactions. A goal confirmed by Jean-François Rochet, vice president of transactions and services at Ledger:

“Binance and Ledger are true global leaders in the digital asset space, and it makes sense to partner to offer our users the benefits of buying crypto-currencies from Binance within Ledger Live, offering Ledger’s uncompromising world-class security.”
