On December 17, Coinbase has promised the dawn of a new era on its cryptocurrency platform with new products on the way. What can we expect?
Coinbase promises a new era, and here’s what we might expect
In recent months, we have seen certain cryptocurrency platforms, starting with Kraken, greatly diversify their product offerings. While this cycle has clearly not been favorable for most altcoins, it could be a wise diversification choice to weather a potential upcoming bear market, thus maintaining a level of activity that does not necessarily depend on crypto prices.
This is probably the reasoning behind Coinbase’s current strategy, according to revelations made by white hat hacker Jane Manchun Wong, who specializes in revealing new features in advance by analyzing the public source code of popular applications.
According to her research, Coinbase is about to unveil a number of new features, such as the integration of Kalshi’s prediction markets:

The day after her post, she clarified that this interface was no longer publicly available, but her revelations didn’t stop there. She also suggested that Coinbase could launch a tokenized stock trading platform, as well as an AI assistant called “Genius.”
Following on from these scoops, while Jane Manchun Wong wanted to reveal that Coinbase was working on lending features, the platform beat her to it by officially announcing a few hours earlier a new integration of Morpho to borrow USDC against ETH.
Another clue that could lend credence to her findings is the fact that a Coinbase employee commented on one of her posts, saying he was happy that she was once again covering a company where he works. To this, the investigator replied:
I am genuinely intrigued by the resurgence of cryptocurrencies in this new, more favorable context.
Earlier this week, Coinbase also officially announced the start of a “new era,” with details to be revealed during a live broadcast on December 17. Announcements about new products have been promised for this occasion, which could confirm the hypotheses discussed here.
