Visa launches program to help artists learn about NFTs

by Tim

The goal of the Visa Creator Program is clear: to help artists develop their business through the issuance of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The one-year program is open to all artists around the world, whether they are musicians, video artists or 3D animation specialists.

A programme to accelerate the adoption of NFTs by creators

Not a day goes by without a flurry of news in the non-fungible token (NFT) department. And while many creatives around the world have already plunged into this fascinating and lucrative world, most remain perplexed by the revolution that is unfolding before their eyes.

To help them get to grips with these new technologies, Visa has just launched a one-year programme for artists around the world. Called the Visa Creator Program, it aims to accelerate the adoption of NFTs by creative people, whether they are in fashion, film, music or the visual arts.

Helping artists access new revenue streams

For the tens of millions of artists creating content online, NFTs add monumental value. For the first time, they can certify the authenticity and ownership of digital goods and media published on the Internet. Content creators can now sell their videos, music, images, GIFs, etc., giving them a new source of revenue.

Cuy Sheffield, head of crypto at Visa, commented on the initiative to support creators who want to get involved in the world of NFTs:

NFTs have the potential to become a powerful accelerator of the content creator economy. [Through the Visa Creator Program, we want to help this new category of small and micro businesses to exploit new media for digital commerce. “

Visa has unveiled the first participant in its programme. It is Micah Johnson, one of the most important artists in the NFT world. He is best known for creating the character of Aku, a young black boy who dreams of becoming an astronaut, recognizable by his oversized helmet.

A five-part programme

To help artists make the most of these new tools, the Visa Creator Program will focus on five key areas:

Mentoring: Visa teams will advise creators on topics such as choosing the right blockchain to issue their work, the different types of smart contracts to consider, and the best marketplaces for NFTs.

The creation of a community: this programme will allow content creators to exchange ideas and overcome obstacles thanks to the support of a real community of artists who are more or less seasoned in the field of NFTs.

Access to thought leaders: programme participants will have the privilege of benefiting from the valuable advice of thinkers and researchers involved in digital commerce, Web3, cryptocurrencies and payments.

Exposure to Visa clients and partners: The Visa Creator Program offers the opportunity to gain exposure to companies within the Visa network. If the opportunity arises, this will make it easier for participants to collaborate with all these players.

Stipend: Participants in the Visa Creator Program will receive a one-time stipend to develop their NFT business.

If you are interested in participating in the Visa Creators Program, we invite you to register on the company’s website. The programme is open to artists from all over the world, regardless of their field of expression. The deadline for applications is May 11, so don’t delay too long if you’re interested.
