Starknet confirms its airdrop – Are you eligible?

Screenshots leaking the official announcement of Starknet’s STRK token airdrop have been circulated on X. A few hours after the leak, Starknet confirmed the authenticity of the screenshots and provided further details. Discover the details of this airdrop and the eligibility criteria.

Starknet confirms rumors

In July 2023, the Starknet Foundation announced the introduction of a token, the STKR. Recently, screenshots revealing the official announcement of the STRK token airdrop were leaked and shared on X by @Auri_0x. These images reveal the steps to claim the airdrop as well as the eligibility criteria to obtain the token.

Shortly after the leak, Starknet published a message confirming the authenticity of these captures and providing further clarification. The Foundation reiterated its intention, announced in July 2023, to distribute STRK tokens to certain members of its community as a thank you for their past contributions.

According to their post, the images showed a draft of the page under development that will serve as a guide for users to obtain their airdrop. Also, Starknet’s release clarifies that the leaked capture is subject to change before official publication:

“Our technical teams are developing and experimenting with various interfaces, some of which have been finalized while others have been abandoned. “

Eligibility criteria and steps to follow for STRK airdrop

Following clarification from the Starknet Foundation, it is important to note that the snapshot has been completed. Although the deadline for complying with the eligibility criteria has already passed, these criteria are still subject to change. However, the information in the screenshots can give us an idea of who will and who won’t be eligible.

The actions required to benefit from airdrop vary according to profiles within the Starknet and Ethereum ecosystems:

  • For Starknet users, details have yet to be confirmed;
  • For Starknet developers, you must have made at least 5 contributions in the Cairo language or developed to serve the Starknet infrastructure;
  • For GitHub developers, it is required to have made at least 5 contributions to a repository in the top 1000 (ranked by number of stars) or appearing in the Electric Capital report for Ethereum, at least one of these contributions must have been made after 2018 ;
  • For early adopters of Ethereum, you must hold an address that has interacted at least 4 times with a smart contract generating more than 100 ETH in fees;
  • For Ethereum stakers, you must have participated in Ethereum 2.0 staking before The Merge;
  • For StarkEx users, you must have interacted with an application using StarkEx before June 1, 2022.

In its tweet, Starknet also warned of potential scams, stressing the importance of users only following information from the foundation’s social networks to avoid any confusion or scams.
