The fantasy football game Sorare is running a special competition for the 2022 World Cup. By putting together your team, you can win a host of rewards, including cryptocurrencies and a meeting with Zinedine Zidane.

Sorare is the ultimate fantasy football game where you build your team by collecting footballer cards in NFT format. Your results depend on the players’ performances in the real world.
The French company Sorare is developing the eponymous blockchain game that follows the principles of Mon Petit Gazon and Panini cards, except that you actually own your cards.
How to participate in this new competition
To participate in the competition, you’ll need to put together your team of players selected for the 2022 World Cup.
You have 100 points and you have to select 8 players. The biggest players (Neymar, Messi) are rated at 23, the least rated will be valued at 5 points. The average being around 12 points.
5 players from the 8 selected will be used to compose your team. This team can be completed by a new selection of 4 players (worth 50 points) after the pools and at each knockout round except for the final.
You will need to field 5 players:
- Guardian;
- Defender;
- Middle ;
- Attacker;
- Extra (any player).
The player selected as captain will receive a 20% bonus on his match score. You have to select a player who will perform well in his next match.
This squad will allow you to collect points and get a ranking against the other players according to the performance of your footballers
The group stage will consist of 3 days and then one day for each knockout round.
What can you win?
At the end of each match, rewards can be earned based on your team’s performance. Each player is given a score after their match based on their performance. The data is taken from the statistics provider OPTA who tracks 48 statistics.
Each day, 5 in total, the rewards are as follows:
- 6 ETH to reward the top 3 of each day;
- 100,000 collectible, tradeable national team player cards;
- 5,000 rare “classic” game cards; “Limited”;
- 100% of participants will receive special non-tradable common cards;
And here are the awards for the whole competition:
- 17 ETH will be shared between the top 10;
- A meeting with Zinedine Zidane for the Top 5;
- VIP tickets for matches for places 6 to 10;
- A signed football shirt for seats 11 to 100;
