Lamborghini: Team supported by carmaker experiments with NFTs

The Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR) racing team, which is supported by Lamborghini’s sports department, is now integrating NFTs on its vehicle parts. This technology, deployed by SkeyNetwork’s Go2NFT (SKEY), will allow for optimal traceability of these components.

Lamborghini experiments with NFTs

The Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR) racing team, supported by Lamborghini Squadra Corse, is embarking on the certification of its vehicles’ spare parts using non-fungible tokens (NFTs). VSR participates in various automobile championships such as the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance. The Squadra Corse is the sports department of the famous bull brand.

To carry out its project, the team has called on the services of Go2NFT. The latter, powered by SkeyNetwork (SKEY), connects real-world objects to the blockchain thanks to NFTs:

This is a first in motor racing, but not the first time an NFT has been associated with a vehicle. Alfa Romeo, for example, has made a name for itself by integrating a non-fungible token as a service booklet for the Tonale

A warranty for car parts

Through their technology, Go2NFT and SkeyNetwork are developing what they call the Blockchain of Things (BoT). Here, the concept is applied to motor racing, to ensure the authenticity and traceability of spare parts. The NFT will contain information such as the serial number or the history of the part for example.

This information can be read using an NFC chip. This allows short-distance communication, such as with bank cards offering contactless payment.

In addition to vehicles, these NFTs can also be used to certify Lamborghini derivatives in VSR colours. This will guarantee their authenticity.

Radoslaw Krzycki, CEO of Skey Network, welcomed the partnership: “

I don’t know of any blockchain or crypto project in the world that wouldn’t like to be associated, through our relationship with VSR, with Lamborghini’s motorsport programmes. […] With our Go2NFT platform, we […] aim to bring NFT utility to all brands that want to protect their products and customers, ensuring clear and universally used authentication. “

While such initiatives are still in their infancy at the moment, it is certain that we are facing the logical continuation of the connectivity of objects. Little by little, these NFT certifications will end up being fully integrated into our daily lives.
