The price of Bitcoin (BTC) could reach $250,000 by the end of the year, according to several industry experts. What lies ahead for the largest cryptocurrency?
The price of BTC could well exceed $250,000 in 2025
Fundstrat co-founder and BitMine chairman Tom Lee shared his optimistic forecast with Coin Stories on Tuesday. According to him, we can still expect a sharp rise in the price of BTC by the end of the year:
I think Bitcoin should really build on this $120,000 level by the end of the year; $200,000, maybe $250,000.
Other industry experts have made similar predictions. This is the case for Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, who also mentioned a threshold of $250,000 being crossed in 2025 in a recent statement. Earlier this year, Cardano co-founder Charles Hoskinson and the director of research at Unchained also made the same prediction.
Although these forecasts are very optimistic, it should be noted that at $250,000, BTC’s market capitalization would exceed $4.9 trillion, based on current supply. This would imply a huge influx of capital and/or a massive reallocation of traditional assets.
This is not yet the case.
Bitcoin appears to have entered a consolidation phase: its price has been trading in a range between approximately $110,000 and $120,000 since mid-July, when it broke its all-time high.

Bitcoin ETFs recorded their second worst day a few days ago, as institutional investors seem to favor Ether (ETH) instead. This has led many analysts to predict a correction phase, with the price of BTC seeking to find its new local low.
That said, this trend should be put into perspective: if we zoom out, we can see that the price of BTC has risen by 104% over the past year. In addition, the United States is taking more and more steps towards opening up to cryptocurrencies, as expressed by President Donald Trump. The SEC has also shown many signs of openness, with the arrival of a new president who is resolutely “pro-crypto.”
Overall, the context therefore remains resolutely favorable for BTC, which could reach its next psychological threshold: $150,000.
