Binance partners with the French Alpine F1 Team and launches the “ALPINE” fan token

by Thomas

First step into the world of motor racing for Binance: the platform has just unveiled a partnership with the French Alpine F1 Team, which includes a fan token to create a unique link between fans and their favourite team. Through this agreement, Binance will also become a privileged partner of the Alpine Esports team.

First F1 partnership for Binance

After Crypto.com (CRO), Tezos (XTZ) and FTX, it’s Binance’s turn to take its first steps into the world of Formula 1 by unveiling its collaboration with the French team Alpine F1 Team.

The partnership will take the form of fan tokens called “ALPINE”, which will offer numerous advantages such as the possibility to vote for the team’s various projects (like a governance token), access to the NFTs PowerStation programme, mini-games as well as other exclusivities such as Binance Pay, Binance Charity or Binance NFT.

The Binance logo will also appear on the new Alpine A522, which is due to be released this month. But that’s not all, the platform is also becoming a partner of the Alpine Esports team from next season.

This is the 4th project to be launched on Binance’s fan token platform, after football clubs S.S Lazio, FC Porto and Santos FC.

An airdrop planned for the occasion

For the launch of the partnership, two airdrops are in place. The first one concerns users who have subscribed to the Alpine F1 Team newsletter, who will receive 1 ALPINE token directly in their Binance wallet. 200,000 tokens are reserved for this airdrop.

The second airdrop starts today with 80,000 tokens available. To participate, you have to retweet and follow the project on Twitter, then fill in a form on the Binance website to have a chance to be selected. 20 to 50 ALPINE tokens will be distributed per eligible person within the limit of available tokens. A total of 280,000 tokens are to be distributed via these airdrops.

A sale of 4,000,000 tokens (10% of the total tokens in circulation) will also take place via the Binance launchpad on 21 February. Participants will be able to purchase a maximum of 10,000 ALPINE tokens at a price of $1/unit. The amount allocated per person will be determined by the number of BNBs staked over the period 16-21 February, so if you are interested, don’t delay in acquiring a few!

A great start to the year

Binance continues to juggle good and bad news.

Last month, the platform was accused of facilitating money laundering in an investigation by Reuters media. This comes after Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said in July that Binance was abandoning its decentralised model to become a financial institution in order to be licensed internationally.

In the meantime, the platform seems to be on the right track as within a month and a half it has managed to reinstate SEPA transfers for its European users and declared a security fund in excess of $1 billion, all the while establishing multiple partnerships around the globe.
