Analyst ZachXBT claims that around 100 crypto influencers have concealed payments for promoting cryptocurrency-related projects.
Influencers discreetly paid to promote crypto projects?
The accusation was made by ZachXBT on Twitter. The analyst published what appears to be a payment sheet showing the names of crypto influencers who allegedly received discreet payments.
NEW LEAK: Price sheet of 200+ crypto influencers and their wallet addresses from a project they were recently contacted by to promote.
From 160+ accounts who accepted the deal, I only saw <5 accounts actually disclose the promotional posts as an advertisement. pic.twitter.com/Kph9dUvDxB

The document lists 200 crypto influencers, along with their associated wallet addresses. ZachXBT claims that of the 160 accounts he reviewed, only five disclosed that their posts were advertisements.
Hidden advertising—particularly for financial services—is illegal in the vast majority of jurisdictions around the world, especially in the United States and the European Union. However, it remains common in the cryptocurrency sector, where enthusiasm on social media often helps boost the price of certain cryptocurrencies.
The list published by ZachXBT concerns only a single project, so one can imagine the scale of hidden promotional posts in the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
Furthermore, the analyst points out that most of the accounts listed are recent or of dubious origin:
Most are from the latest generation of Crypto Twitter or are accounts inflated with bots.
Unfortunately, this practice remains common, which is why it is essential to conduct a thorough analysis of a project or cryptocurrency before investing.
