After unveiling its FRNT stablecoin last summer, the State of Wyoming is deploying it on the Solana (SOL) blockchain. A look back at this major first.
Wyoming Deploys Its FRNT Stablecoin on Solana
Last August, the State of Wyoming unveiled the Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), the first government-issued stablecoin on a public blockchain. The plan was to launch FRNT on seven networks, namely:
- Ethereum (ETH);
- Solana (SOL);
- Arbitrum (ARB);
- Avalanche (AVAX);
- Base;
- Optimism (OP);
- and Polygon (POL).
In fact, the stablecoin was indeed deployed on Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible blockchains from the outset, even though activity on those networks has not been particularly notable so far.
Now, Wyoming has also deployed its FRNT stablecoin on the Solana blockchain:

At the same time, FRNT is also launching on the Kraken cryptocurrency exchange.
It’s worth noting that these latest developments are only happening now, even though the August press release stated that the deployment was expected to take place “in the coming days.”
In any case, it will be interesting to follow the development of this new stablecoin, for which the Wyoming Stable Token Commission promises broader expansion by 2026.
