Last March, Eric Trump, one of the US president’s sons, was appointed to the “Strategic Council” of Metaplanet, a Bitcoin Treasury Company based in Japan. In this context, Bloomberg reported that he is expected to visit the company in September, in particular to discuss the Trump family’s crypto initiatives. At this stage, nothing has been officially confirmed, but this is what has been reported by an anonymous source close to the matter, with Metaplanet set to hold a shareholders’ meeting on September 1.
With 18,888 bitcoins, valued at $2.12 billion at the time of writing, Metaplanet ranks as the seventh-largest publicly traded company in terms of BTC holdings.
