The Tennessee Titans are an American football team based in Nashville, USA. They become the first NFL franchise to accept Bitcoin as a form of payment
BREAKING: The Tennessee Titans will now accept Bitcoin for payment.
It will start with larger purchases (season tickets & suites) but could eventually extend to smaller items like food & beverage at the stadium.
They are the first NFL team to do this.

Initially, this payment method will only be offered for strategic purchases via a third party conversion service, details of which are not immediately available. For example, it will be possible for season tickets or sponsorship campaigns.
This is a test phase of sorts. But the franchise hopes to expand these options in the future with the ability to spend these digital assets on single ticket purchases, in-store merchandise or food at the stadium, for example.
The service was rolled out following a partnership between the franchise, Bitcoin Magazine and investment fund UTXO Management, who were able to offer advice.
David Bailey of UTXO Management, commented on the development:
“We are delighted to be able to offer this service to our customers.
We are proud to partner with the Tennessee Titans as they begin their Bitcoin journey and offer fans a new way to pay. 2022 is a special year as we continue to work with professional sports teams to help educate and drive mass adoption of Bitcoin. “
Cryptos and sports
When at the end of March the NFL announced that its franchises would once again have the option to accept crypto partnerships, we can expect to see more of the same in the world of American football.
While this is unprecedented in the NFL, it is not the first time that BTC has made its way into American sports. The Oakland Athletics baseball team and the Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks basketball franchises also accept Bitcoin as a means of payment.
Add to this the recent partnership between Lionel Messi and the Socios.com platform, and it confirms our idea that the democratisation of cryptocurrencies will also come through sports.
