The Hudson Yard shopping mall in New York City welcomed a new shop called Solana Spaces last Thursday. In this special Web3 shop, it is possible to buy products stamped Solana, but also to learn about different areas of the cryptocurrency world.
Solana ecosystem shop opens in New York
The Solana blockchain (SOL) now has a physical shop dedicated to it. The latter is located in the Hudson Yard shopping mall, in the Manhattan district of New York City:

It’s a novel initiative called Solana Spaces. Vibhu Norby, the CEO, was optimistic about the establishment’s ability to attract visitors. In a Twitter Q&A session, he did indeed put forward some ambitious figures:
“I’m not going to be able to get any visitors.
“I don’t think people realise it, but we’re going to bring 50-100,000 people to Solana every month through these shops – and that’s just this year. “
So this first location opened last Thursday.
A place of exchange and learning
No surprises, the Solana Spaces shop sells merchandise with the blockchain logo. For example, we will find pairs of shoes and other clothing, but also the Saga, Solana’s first smartphone.
Beyond that, Solana Spaces is also very good at helping newcomers. For example, it is possible to learn how to configure the Phantom wallet in order to interact with this ecosystem. Education on decentralised finance and non-fungible tokens (NFT) is also offered.
Still on the tutorial front, visitors will be able to discover the various applications that make up the Solana landscape. These include StepN, Magic Eden and Orca.
In addition, users of the Solana Pay service will be granted a 50% discount on their purchases, up to a maximum of $200 off.
Whatever the success of this novelty, it is an experiment to be welcomed, which could prove to be a powerful vector of democratization if it were to be duplicated throughout the world
