Film legend Anthony Hopkins has been publicly displaying his attraction to non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on Twitter for the past few months. Now he’s delving deeper into this world with “The Eternal” collection, powered by Web3 studio Orange Comet:

Announced last August, this Thursday at 9pm Paris time, investors who have secured their place on the “allow list” will be able to mine the 1,000 NFTs in this collection. The collection will include 10 unique animated copies and 990 other unique images.

The 84-year-old actor, who has also been a painter since 2005, describes the non-fungible tokens as a “new canvas”. He was introduced to blockchain technology in the NFT film Zero Contact, which was shot remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This collection is based on the theme of archetypes by the psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung. An archetype is a psychological concept that is supposed to define the way we think.

The benefits of the collection

The benefits of this collection include a Zoom interview with Anthony Hopkins, either individually or in a group according to the NFT. There is also an autographed art book containing hundreds of paintings and drawings by the artist. These benefits are limited and will depend on luck, as well as the type of non-fungible token acquired.

In addition, 100 randomly selected buyers will receive an additional personalised NFT, containing a message from Anthony Hopkins. Up to three copies of the collection can be purchased by the lucky ones, and the price of the mint is set at 0.25 ETH.

Other artists before the actor have been won over by these technologies, with Snoop Dogg and Eminen probably being the most prominent examples. This dynamic clearly shows the paradigm shift that is taking place. More than just images, NFTs are an additional tool for artists to interact with their community
