Brett Harrison, until then president of FTX.US, has announced his resignation after nearly a year and a half of growing the US branch of the famous exchange. His time at the company has been marked by strong growth, as well as several major acquisitions.

FTX.US president resigns from his post

Brett Harrison, now ex-president of FTX.US, has chosen to focus on other professional projects. He announced his resignation yesterday afternoon on his Twitter profile:

Despite his departure, he says he will retain a position as an advisor to the FTX exchange. Although he only stayed with Sam Bankman-Fried’s company (SBF) for a year and a half, his career has been rich in accomplishments.

As he says, the US branch has grown from “3 multi-taskers” to a team of over 100 people during this time. In addition, he has been able to diversify the company’s activities, notably with the acquisition of Embed last June by FTX.US. The latter specialises in stock trading.

On the other hand, we can also mention the acquisition of LedgerX this summer, a cryptocurrency derivatives platform.

Note that the former president of FTX.US is leaving the company on good terms with its founder and that he was proud of the path taken:

I have no doubt that my experiences in this role will be among the most cherished of my career. I am especially grateful to Sam Bankman-Fried for this opportunity and the trust he has placed in me during this time in FTX’s history. I am glad to have his friendship and support in this decision. “

An upcoming venture still in the crypto ecosystem

While Brett Harrison has yet to reveal the next step in his journey, he says he will remain in the blockchain universe.

“I remain in the industry with the goal of removing technological barriers to the full participation and maturation of global crypto markets, both centralized and decentralized. I look forward to saying more about what I’m going to do next. Until then, I will be assisting Sam and the team in this transition to ensure FTX ends the year with the same momentum it has today. “

It’s true that FTX continues to surprise during this bear market. If other competitors are in trouble, the SBF company seems to have inexhaustible financial resources. The latest deal, which saw FTX.US acquire the assets of Voyager Digital, is proof of this.

Based on his track record at FTX, we can say that Brett Harrison has set the bar high for his successor.
