American DJ Steve Aoki, who founded the music label DIM MAK Records, which has produced artists such as Klaxons, MSTRKRFT and The Chainsmokers, has announced an exclusive non-fungible token (NFT) pass for his fans.

The announcement was made via its Twitter account on 27 January, which states that it is “an exclusive membership unlike any other community”:

This ecosystem called “AOK1VERSE” aims to bridge the gap between the metaverse and the real world, as its “citizens” will enjoy exclusive rewards in both the physical world and the metaverse.

These rewards include exclusive access to pre-sales of future Steve Aoki NFTs, free concert tickets worldwide, collectibles, apparel and virtual concert tokens. They are due to be launched on 28 February

A system based on a proprietary NFT

To be eligible, you will need to purchase the “Passport”, an NFT that can only be exchanged for “AOK1s”, ERC-1155 tokens developed specifically for the AOK1VERSE.

Only 50,000 AOK1s will be created in total, of which 25,000 will be distributed at launch. The other half will serve as a reward for the community.

Of this half, 5,000 will be available to anyone who already owns NFTs designed by Steve Aoki, such as those in the “Dream Catcher” collection he co-created with artist Antoni Tudisco. These tokens will be distributed from 7 to 11 February, while sales to the public will begin on 15 February.

As for the passport, it will be possible to unlock it for 1 AOK1 token, but the rewards it offers will increase according to the number of tokens owned.

Details of the specifics of each conversion level have not yet been released, but it is known that the first “Infrared” level will already provide access to the aforementioned rewards.

The metaverse is becoming more and more popular

The AOK1VERSE and its passport were designed in partnership with the startup Manifold, which specializes in the creation and development of smart contracts and has already collaborated with artists such as Jay-Z, the Sacramento Kings basketball franchise and Fortune magazine.
Normally, a musician or artist is content to offer content to their fans, and that’s a one-way street. With NFTs, their owners can choose to engage if they wish, earn additional benefits by participating and contributing, and can even sell and move on if they wish,” said Richerd Chan, Manifold’s co-founder, about the partnership with Steve Aoki.

Steve Aoki is not new to the metaverse, as in addition to his partnership with artist Antoni Tudisco, he acquired an NFT from the Doodle collection for ETH 269, or $859,000 at the time of purchase.

It is also worth noting that the artist and producer owns a piece of land on the blockchain game The Sandbox, alongside personalities such as Snoop Dogg and companies such as Warner Music, Atari or the exchange platform Binance.
