With over 6,800 visitors and 90 speakers in 2025, CryptoXR is becoming a strategic venue to meet the leaders shaping the French-speaking ecosystem. Roundtables, workshops, booths, and immersive content unfold across more than 6,000 m² of exhibition space.
Auxerre Becomes the Bitcoin Capital for a Few Days
During CryptoXR, Auxerre transforms into a true testing ground for Bitcoin adoption.
In 2025, 23 local businesses accepted payments in BTC, making Auxerre second in France—after Paris—in terms of the number of retail locations accepting Bitcoin.
The initiative, launched in conjunction with the event, facilitated 439 Bitcoin transactions, 82% of which took place directly within the CryptoXR venue.
Data collected last year reveals a clear trend: the average amount of an on-site payment was 6,400 sats, while in the city it reached 25,600 sats. While nearly all merchants converted their BTC into euros, one of them chose to keep their sats, which have neither gained nor lost value against the euro since the 2025 event.
This testing ground highlights a key point: adoption comes through use, not just through talk. By accepting Bitcoin, merchants are testing, learning, and confronting a concrete reality that goes beyond the prejudices often heard in traditional media.
CryptoXR is therefore not just a forum for discussion, but a space where Bitcoin thrives within the local economy, directly aligned with its principles of accessibility and sovereignty.
