Chiliz publicly announces its mainnet

Chiliz (CHZ), the blockchain ecosystem specialising in sport and entertainment, has announced the public launch of the Chiliz Chain mainnet. This is another major milestone in the development of Chiliz, which aims to revolutionise the sports and entertainment industries by bringing them into the Web3 era.

According to Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz, the Chiliz Chain will offer a number of benefits to users, including faster transaction times, lower fees and greater scalability:

“Chiliz Chain can grow to form the backbone of Web3 in sport, providing the infrastructure behind the next generation of products, experiences and services for teams, brands and their fans. “

From a technical point of view, this new blockchain is layer-1 and is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). It will introduce a system of 11 validator nodes enabling the Proof of Stake Authority (PoSA) consensus to operate.

For the launch, only 3 validators have been selected: Jump Crypto, Paribu and Meria (formerly Just Mining). Owen Simonin (better known under the pseudonym Hasheur), CEO of Meria, spoke of his excitement at this major collaboration:

“Childe”, “Childe”, “Childe”, “Childe”, “Childe”, “Childe” and “Childe”.

“Chiliz Chain can grow to form the backbone of Web3 in sport, providing the infrastructure behind the next generation of products, experiences and services for teams, brands and their fans. “

Chiliz is best known for popularising fan tokens for football, NBA and Formula 1 teams through its Socios.com platform. This platform has enabled a new kind of interaction between clubs and fans.

From now on, any developer will be able to propose any application or use case based around the brand they like, directly on Chiliz Chain. The Chiliz team issues the fan token and provides the infrastructure, while the community builds and uses the decentralised applications.
