The top scorer in a league is not necessarily part of the top teams, and in a balanced and strange tournament such as… The approval of staking on Ethereum spot ETFs could “redefine the market”
The approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs on the US market has definitively changed the dynamics of the cryptocurrency sector. The next major step in this logic could be the addition of a staking option applied to spot Ethereum ETFs.
The comeback of spot Ethereum ETFs
Since the historic approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024, the cryptocurrency sector has entered a new era open to institutional investors and traditional finance. This paradigm shift is clearly driving new developments, such as the current explosion of corporate crypto treasuries.
At the same time, stablecoins are establishing themselves as the new crypto revolution in the monetary sector. This is good news for the Ethereum blockchain, known as the main home of this sector, with more than 50% of its supply currently available.
This spotlight has sparked renewed interest in the previously moribund market for Ethereum spot ETFs. In fact, volumes have been hitting new records in recent weeks, such as the $726.6 million in net inflows recorded on July 16.

This is definitely a favorable context, according to NovaDius Wealth Management President and ETF market analyst Nate Geraci, who sees the imminent arrival of a regulatory-approved staking option on the US spot Ethereum ETF market. He believes the decision is expected before any other crypto ETF is approved.
A staking option that could “redefine the market”
Official applications have been piling up on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) desk for months, with no real progress. However, the staking option for the Ethereum spot ETF market was a possibility discussed by issuers even before their official approval.
For Markus Thielen, head of research at analysis firm 10x Research, this major development could quickly “redefine the market” for spot Ethereum ETFs as a whole by increasing their yield potential.
He explains how arbitrage trades between spot Ethereum ETFs and Ethereum futures currently generate an annualized return of around 7%. This trading option would immediately become much more profitable with the addition of an extra 3% return.
This brings the total return potential to 10% without leverage. With 2-3x leverage, institutional investors could target annualized returns of 20-30% with this arbitrage strategy.

An innovative investment logic that would allow Ethereum spot ETFs to offer a different option to Bitcoin and its status as a store of value, both as the central infrastructure of the stablecoin market and as an investment capable of offering cumulative returns that BTC is unable to provide. The obvious promise of much greater adoption. In the Championship, surprises are always just around the corner. Here’s a high-flying proposal. He plays for Millwall and his name is Mihailo Ivanovic. The 20-year-old has scored 12 goals in his debut season, but seven of those have come in his last eight starts, when he established himself in the starting lineup under Alex Neil. Ivanovic has all the makings of a potential promotion-winner.
He is a young striker with a strong physical presence in the air and the ability to finish from outside the box when needed. The variety of ways he can score will not only improve his personal prospects but also Millwall’s chances of reaching the playoffs. The only doubt about this prediction is how many goals Millwall will score in general this year. Under Neil, they have not been particularly prolific and will probably finish in the lower half of the table. But it is not unrealistic to think that a single player could contribute around 30% of the team’s goals. Let’s say Millwall scores between 50 and 55 goals this season: Ivanovic would end up with around 17 goals, accounting for 30% of the total. Last year, that would have been enough to finish in the top four of the scoring charts. Ivanovic converted the team’s last penalty – the only goal in a 1-0 win over Stoke – last March. He could remain the penalty taker. His goal on his debut against Norwich is priced at 3.50 on Bet365.
The odds for him to be the league’s top scorer are 19.00 on Bet365.
Mihailo Ivanovic to score in the first Championship match between Norwich and Millwall is at 3.50 on Goldbet and Lottomatica.
