In recent months, we’ve seen certain cryptocurrency platforms—starting with Kraken—significantly diversify their product offerings. While this cycle has clearly not been favorable for most altcoins, it could be a wise diversification strategy to weather a potential upcoming bear market, thereby maintaining a level of activity that doesn’t necessarily depend on crypto prices.
This is likely the reasoning currently driving Coinbase, according to revelations by white-hat hacker Jane Manchun Wong, who specializes in uncovering new features ahead of their official release by analyzing the public source code of well-known applications.
According to her research, Coinbase is reportedly on the verge of unveiling a number of new features, such as the integration of Kalshi’s prediction markets:

The day after her post, she clarified that this interface was no longer publicly available, but her revelations don’t stop there. And for good reason: she also suggested that Coinbase might launch a trading platform for tokenized stocks, as well as an AI assistant called “Genie.”
Following these scoops, just as Jane Manchun Wong was about to reveal that Coinbase was working on lending features, the platform beat her to it by officially announcing—just a few hours earlier—a new Morpho integration allowing users to borrow USDC against ETH.
Another clue that lends credence to her findings is the fact that a Coinbase employee commented on one of her posts, saying he was happy that she was once again covering the company where he works. To this, the investigator replied:
I’m genuinely intrigued by the resurgence of cryptocurrencies in this new, more favorable context.
Earlier this week, Coinbase also officially announced the start of a “new era,” the details of which will be revealed during a live stream on December 17. On that occasion, announcements regarding new products were promised, which could therefore confirm the hypotheses discussed here.
