After unveiling its FRNT stablecoin last summer, the state of Wyoming is rolling it out on the Solana (SOL) blockchain. A look back at this major first.
Wyoming rolls out its FRNT stablecoin on Solana
Last August, the state of Wyoming unveiled the Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), the first stablecoin issued by a government on a public blockchain. In this case, the plan was to launch FRNT on seven networks, namely:
- Ethereum (ETH);
- Solana (SOL);
- Arbitrum (ARB);
- Avalanche (AVAX);
- Base;
- Optimism (OP);
- and Polygon (POL).
In fact, the stablecoin was deployed on Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible blockchains from the outset, although activity on these networks has not been particularly noteworthy so far.
Now, Wyoming has also deployed its FRNT stablecoin on the Solana blockchain:

At the same time, FRNT is also coming to the Kraken cryptocurrency exchange.
It should be noted that these latest developments are only happening now, whereas in the August press release, the rollout was supposed to take place “in the coming days.”
In any case, it will be interesting to follow the development of this new stablecoin, for which the Wyoming Stable Token Commission promises broader development by 2026.
