by Christian

After attracting more than 6,800 visitors in 2025, CryptoXR returns to Auxerre from January 15 to 17, 2026. This crypto event, open to both the general public and professionals, has established itself as a hub for ideas, uses, and innovations around digital currencies.

CryptoXR 2026: the French crypto event not to be missed

CryptoXR has become an unmissable event dedicated to cryptocurrencies in France, bringing together experts, beginners, and those curious about this ecosystem.

Organized at Auxerrexpo, in the city of Auxerre, the 2026 edition will take place from January 15 to 17. It is designed to promote exchanges between professionals, content creators, and enthusiasts.

CryptoXR 2026 adopts a unique four-part format:

  • Friday, January 16: B2B day for companies, project leaders, and investors.
  • Saturday, January 17: day for the general public and students, with interactive workshops, educational conferences, and a closing party that lasts until the end of the night.

With more than 6,800 visitors and 90 speakers in 2025, CryptoXR is becoming a strategic venue for meeting the voices that shape the French-speaking ecosystem. Round tables, workshops, stands, and immersive content are spread over more than 6,000 m² of exhibition space.

Auxerre becomes the capital of Bitcoin for a few days

During CryptoXR, Auxerre is transformed into a veritable laboratory for Bitcoin adoption.

In 2025, 23 local businesses accepted BTC payments, making Auxerre the second city in France, after Paris, with the most points of sale accepting Bitcoin.

The initiative, carried out in conjunction with the event, resulted in 439 Bitcoin transactions, 82% of which took place directly in the CryptoXR space.

The data collected last year reveals a concrete dynamic: the average amount of a payment on site was 6,400 sats, while in the city it reached 25,600 sats. While almost all merchants converted their BTC into euros, one of them chose to keep their sats, which have neither gained nor lost value against the euro since the 2025 event.
This testing ground highlights an essential point: adoption comes through use, not just talk. By accepting Bitcoin, merchants are testing, learning, and confronting a concrete reality that goes beyond the prejudices we hear in the traditional media.

CryptoXR is therefore not just a place for discussion, but a space where Bitcoin lives in the local economy, directly linked to its principles of accessibility and sovereignty.
