An unprecedented breakthrough. Binance’s BNB has just overtaken Tether’s USDT and Ripple’s XRP in the ranking of the most capitalized cryptocurrencies. It is now the third most capitalized crypto asset. How can this change be explained?
BNB sees its capitalization explode
Over the last 24 hours, the top 10 cryptocurrencies have been in the red… Except for Binance’s BNB. It has gained 4.2% over the last 24 hours and 28.9% over the week. This explosive rise has allowed it to surpass Tether’s USDT and Ripple’s XRP. This morning, BNB has a market cap of $181 billion, compared to $178 billion for USDT. It broke a new record last night, surpassing $1,350 for the first time.

The price of BNB has set a series of new all-time highs in recent weeks, breaking through unprecedented thresholds step by step:

The reasons behind Binance’s BNB’s unprecedented breakthrough
It seems that several factors have combined to drive up the price of BNB. First and foremost is increased adoption on the network. It should be noted that the Aster exchange platform, which operates on the BNB Chain, has exploded in recent weeks. It has therefore contributed to the interest in cryptocurrency. This week, the rush also seems to have been triggered by an announcement from CEA Industries. The listed company confirmed on Tuesday that it held 480,000 BNB, representing a total investment of over $410 million.
Other companies have also announced BNB accumulations, which is contributing to investor confidence.
Another factor is that Changpeng Zhao, the former CEO of Binance who is rumored to have ambitions to return, has pointed out that more and more memecoins are being created and traded:
#BNB meme szn! 😆
I didn’t expect this at all. And people keep asking me to predict the future… 🤷♂️
Keep building!

This, combined with underlying technical momentum, has enabled BNB to reach another all-time high and surpass two major competitors. BNB, which was created in 2017, has thus established itself as a quiet force in recent months.
