Famous luxury brand Gucci renews its Web3 appeal with the announcement of a collection of 3,333 pendants in collaboration with Yuga Labs’ Otherside metaverse. Each pendant will also have its own digital duplicate that will enrich the metadata of the associated NFT
Gucci dives into the Otherside
Last week, famed luxury apparel brand Gucci posted a tweet hinting at an upcoming collaboration with Otherside, Yuga Labs’ metaverse, indicating that a new narrative was taking shape “blurring the lines between the physical and the digital. “

This collaboration has just become a reality, with the announcement of a collection of 3,333 silver pendants: the Otherside Relics.

Each of these necklaces will come with its own digital version called KodaPendant, which will become a feature for the associated Kodas or Vessels non-fungible tokens (NFT).
These pendants will be available for purchase by Koda or Vessel holders, as Vessels were introduced with the “Otherdeed Expend” update, giving access to a new 2D experience from Yuga Labs: Legends of the Mara.
As for the Koda, they are themselves a feature of Otherside lands, and the floor price of NFTs containing a Koda now stands at 13.4 ETH. Such a land will then have to be decoupled to get a full Koda NFT.
An imminent launch
Sales will open this Thursday, April 6 at 10:00 p.m. Paris time, and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
The NFTs used to participate in this auction will also have their metadata updated and the artwork will then feature the Koda or Vessel wearing the pendant:

The unit price of these pendants is set at 450 APE tokens, a value of $1,935 at the time of writing.
According to the Yuga Labs press release, this partnership is still in its infancy and should lead to further announcements in the future:
Yuga Labs and Gucci are creating Otherside Relics to push the boundaries at the intersection of fashion, entertainment and gaming. Throughout our extensive partnership, we will work together to engage Travelers in immersive experiences […]. “
Gucci is thus renewing its appeal to the Web3 ecosystem after notably joining The Sandbox metaverse last year. The brand had also begun to accept cryptocurrencies in its stores in the United States, including precisely the ApeCoin.
