Bitcoin (BTC) hit a record high last night, propelling the cryptocurrency into the top five most valuable companies in the world.
Bitcoin is now more valuable than Amazon and Meta
Bitcoin surpassed Amazon (AMZN) in market capitalization today, joining the top five most valuable companies in the world. At this point, Jeff Bezos’ company is worth $2.394 trillion, according to data shared by Companiesmarketcap. At midday on August 14, BTC surpassed $2.421 trillion, according to data aggregated by CoinGecko. BTC is preceded by Alphabet (GOOG), which has a market capitalization of $2.448 trillion. The top two in the ranking are Microsoft (MSFT – $3.869 trillion) and Nvidia (NVDA – $4.428 trillion).
Last night, the price of Bitcoin briefly hit $124,470, following a steady rise since the beginning of the month.
The largest cryptocurrency is confirming its leading position, currently accounting for 57% of the total market capitalization of all cryptocurrencies.
Ether (ETH) is approaching its all-time high, trading at $4,750 at midday—up 24% in a single week. Binance’s BNB surpassed its ATH this morning, crossing the $866 mark for the first time in its history.
