Ava Labs, the company behind Avalanche, has announced its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to accelerate the adoption of blockchain to customers of Amazon’s cloud computing platform. The AVAX token has printed a remarkable +32% in the space of a few hours.

Avalanche lands on Amazon Web Services

It was reported late yesterday. Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon’s cloud computing platform, has partnered with Ava Labs, the company behind Avalanche, with the goal of “accelerating the adoption of blockchain by businesses, institutions and governments.

Obviously, this announcement was not long in coming to fire up investors. Avalanche’s AVAX began a remarkable +32% bullish rally in just a few hours. The asset price has since retraced a few percent from that high but is still trading around $15.45.

What is it?

Through this partnership, Amazon Web Services now supports the Avalanche ecosystem and all of its decentralized applications (dApps). For example, an AWS customer can now deploy a node on the Avalanche blockchain in minutes and connect it to the network.

More importantly, Ava Labs will be able to offer a real value-added service with its subnet technology. In the future, it is planned that the deployment of subnets on Avalanche will be added to the range of services sold on the AWS marketplace. This will allow any individual or company to launch their own subnet tailored to their needs.

Ava Labs will also join the AWS Activate programme, which is designed to provide better support for developers. Howard Wright, vice president and global head of startups at AWS, welcomed the partnership:

At AWS, our goal is to bring the most advanced technologies to builders, whether they’re in a multi-million dollar company, a government office or a dorm room. The new capabilities Avalanche brings allow us to do just that. “

This isn’t the first time Amazon Web Services has ventured into blockchain territory. Indeed, the platform has its own dedicated service for this ecosystem, called Amazon Managed Blockchain, which has already been supporting the Ethereum (ETH) network since March 2021.

Although the network currently has 1194 validator nodes, it will be necessary to remain vigilant: the delegation to cloud computing services such as AWS may strongly impact the decentralisation of the network, a key component of its good health.
